Hi! I'm Kate
Greetings, potential watchers!
My full name is Katherine Sara O'Keefe. People who don't know me call me Katie or Kathy or they call me by my full name because they don't know how much I hate it. My family calls me Kate and so do most of my friends. My college mates call me Kitty, like a cat, and Grimm, like the Brothers Grimm.
I'm an arts student from Toronto in my graduating year at college.
I'm not very good at introductions, but I'll give it a shot. I'm an aspiring writer and illustrator from Toronto. My personality has often been described as "dainty, but feisty." I'm a very solitary person, mostly spending time to myself reading, writing, drawing or editing videos, but my loved ones are important to me and you won't like me when I'm angry...I'm serious, I can get pretty dangerous when I'm angry, which is quite often, seeing as I just generally happen to be a very angry person.
I'm really into classic fairy tales and literature (I'm very much a book worm) and my artwork tends to reflect that. My style is mostly inspired by the works of Arthur Rackham, Victoria Francés and Brian Froud. I love fantasy art and illustration because to me, there's so much to express through it. I think the main reason I love to draw fantasy and fairy tales so much, though, is because I grew up with it. I've always loved fairy tales. They seemed to grow up with me 'cause when I was young, I saw them as anyone else saw them: simple stories that were entertaining for children, but as I got older, I started to discover how dark they really were and I saw life that way too; as you get older, you start to see the darker side to things, but then begin to understand them more.
The main reason I'm here is to share my work with the world, hope to show some development in my skill and style of artwork and share little tidbits of my life as an artist.
